Covid travelling

We both have always enjoyed taking a bath when opportunity presented itself. So during a trip to Iceland, we decided to make taking a bath every day a main goal and to write about it. Every bath is accompanied by some more or less interesting facts.

When Covid hit the world, we found ourselves in a unique situation. We both have jobs where we got restricted to working from home. Which meant we could do our jobs from anywhere. We couldn’t complain about the work conditions not being varied!

And here is the office view, with 2 volcanoes!

Heimaey in Vestmannaeyjar, the left volcano had an outburst in 1973

Although the Norwegian government had a general recommendation not to travel abroad, Iceland was an exception. So we went there in september 2020. Travelling around there without almost any other tourists was so mesmerizing that when our return airplane was cancelled, we just stayed for two more weeks. This was possible because we could work from anywhere. So without knowing the term yet, we where “digital nomads”!

In january 2021 we had an inheritance from Knuts father coming our way. In what we feel is his spirit, we found out that we could make another trip to Iceland, work as normal during quarantine, then take easter holiday there. The public recommendation was still not to go abroad, except for Iceland. So we did not break any recommendations of our government! This time, however, Covid numbers in Iceland suddenly rose, so we just stayed until quarantine restrictions where lifted. We ended up having spent more than 3 months travelling around Iceland in those 2 trips!
